Pastor Pako Mokgwane, Associate General Conference Youth Director, recently visited Sarawak to promote Public Campus Ministry (PCM) among youth studying in non-mission schools. During his visit, he emphasized the importance of the theme “Let Your Light Shine” as a call for young Adventists to live out their faith and be a positive influence in secular educational settings. By engaging with these students, Pastor Pako inspired them to embrace PCM as a platform to grow spiritually, connect with their peers, and share God’s love within their campuses and communities.

Pastor Pako also visited Sunny Hill School, which has a total of 500 students, as well as Ayer Manis School, with 300 students, where he shared his message of spreading the gospel and promoting Public Campus Ministry (PCM). Pastor Pako also stated, ”By being gentle, God can use you to be blessing’’,highlighting the power of kindness and humility in making a positive impact on others.

Public Campus Ministry (PCM) in the Seventh-day Adventist Church is a vibrant initiative dedicated to supporting Adventist students, faculty, and staff on public university and college campuses worldwide. This ministry seeks to equip young people with the tools to uphold their faith in secular environments, foster spiritual growth, and empower them to be effective witnesses for Christ.

Through activities such as Bible studies, prayer groups, outreach programs, and campus events, PCM provides a spiritual home away from home, connecting students with like-minded peers and nurturing their relationship with God. It also emphasizes leadership development, encouraging students to actively share their faith and positively impact their campus communities.

PCM is a testament to the Adventist Church’s commitment to education and evangelism, ensuring that students remain grounded in their beliefs while thriving academically and socially in diverse and dynamic settings. PCM often collaborates with local churches, conferences, and unions to provide resources like PCM Sabbath, leadership training, mission trips, and campus-specific programs. The ministry is a bridge connecting Adventists in secular environments with the broader church community, helping them shine as lights in the world while staying grounded in their faith.
