A total of 300 participants attended the Northern Pathfinder Camp 2026, held at Rh. Tiut Usit, Setulan, Bintulu, from 9 to 11 October 2026. Organised by the Northern Zone of the Sarawak Pathfinder Club under the Seventh-day Adventist Mission of Sarawak, the camp carried the theme “Faithful,” inspired by the life of Joseph in the Bible.

The camp was led by MG Sherilyn Stewart, who was specially appointed by the Sarawak Pathfinder Club Executive Committee (EXCO). She was supported by Master Guides and Pathfinders from the northern area, particularly from Setulan, Semanok, Seterus, Tatau, Bintulu and Miri. This appointment showed the commitment of the Sarawak Pathfinder Club leadership to developing a generation of young people who are faithful, disciplined and committed to God. With the support of the organising committee, instructors and volunteers, the camp provided an opportunity for participants to strengthen their faith, develop new skills and build leadership qualities.

The camp brought together participants from 26 Pathfinder and Adventurer clubs, creating an opportunity for fellowship, learning and spiritual growth. Their participation also helped strengthen friendships and unity among the clubs while encouraging a stronger spirit of service. The participating clubs were Kabiah Pathfinder Club, Swan Glory Pathfinder Club, Semanok Pathfinder Club, Tatau Center Pathfinder Club, Sg. Arip Pathfinder, Sarikei Pathfinder Club, Kuching English Pathfinder Club, Kapit Pathfinder Club, Atarah Pathfinder Club, Batu Kawa Pathfinder Club, Horizon Pathfinder Club, Nyabet Pathfinder Club, Sunny Hill Kindergarten Adventurer Club, Sunny Hill Primary Pathfinder Club, Bunga Pathfinder Club, Batu Bom Pathfinder Club, D’shinning Cross Pathfinder Club, Julau Center Pathfinder, Miri Pathfinder Club, Shooting Star Pathfinder Club, Faloso Pathfinder Club, Pearl of Hope Pathfinder Club, Lumenis Fidei Pathfinder Club, Shine Pathfinder Club, Jupiter Pathfinder Club and Setulan Pathfinder Club.

Throughout the three-day camp, participants took part in various spiritual activities, skill-learning sessions, group activities and character-building programmes. These activities aimed to strengthen their relationship with God, develop their leadership skills and encourage them to remain faithful despite the challenges they may face in life. One of the main highlights was the sermon delivered by MG Daniel Victor, SSD MG Coordinator, on 10 October 2026. In his message, he reminded the participants of the importance of remaining faithful to God even when facing difficult situations, just as Joseph did in the Bible. “Remain faithful to God with all your heart, even when our challenges are difficult, just like Joseph,” he emphasised. He reminded the participants that faithfulness to God should not depend on the situations they experience in life. MG Daniel Victor also shared his personal journey of faith and how a person can return to God after going through a period of life away from Him. “My life was once far from God, but now I have returned to Him and continue to remain faithful to Him,” he shared. His personal testimony reminded the participants that their past does not have to determine their future. Through surrendering their lives to God, everyone has the opportunity to rebuild their relationship with Him and continue walking in faith.

The theme “Faithful” also reminded the Pathfinders of Joseph, a young man who remained firm in his faith and principles despite facing many trials. His life teaches that faithfulness to God is important not only when life is going well but also during difficult times, temptations and uncertain situations. Besides the spiritual sessions, the camp programme included morning worship, group prayers, United Prayer, flag-raising and flag-lowering ceremonies, Pathfinder skill demonstrations, honour and award classes, and an investiture ceremony. These activities were planned to help participants develop discipline, leadership, teamwork and a stronger commitment to service.

The participants also attended several Pathfinder honour classes, including Christian Grooming and Manners, Hebrew, Social Media, Flags, Voice of Youth and Nutrition. For the award classes, they learned Bible Storytelling and the Good Samaritan. Through these classes, participants had the opportunity to gain new knowledge and skills while learning to practise Christian values in their daily lives. The camp also featured the theme song “Ku Mahu Berjalan Bersama Jurus’lamatku” (I Want to Walk with My Saviour). The song reminded participants of the decision to continue following Jesus in every situation, whether walking through peaceful valleys or facing the storms of life.

The organising committee expressed its sincere appreciation and gratitude to Rh. Tiut Usit and the Setulan Seventh-day Adventist Church for kindly hosting the Northern Pathfinder Camp 2026. Their cooperation, warm hospitality and support played an important role in making the camp successful. Appreciation was also extended to the leadership team, organising committee, instructors, volunteers, all participating clubs and contributors who gave their time, energy and support to make the programme possible. Their commitment and service helped create a meaningful experience for all the Pathfinders and Adventurers. May their efforts continue to bless the young people and bring glory to God’s name.

Overall, the Northern Pathfinder Camp 2026 was more than just a camping event or an opportunity to learn new skills. It was also a meaningful time for participants to strengthen their faith and renew their commitment to God. Through the example of Joseph and the personal testimony shared by MG Daniel Victor, the participants were reminded that remaining faithful to God is a daily decision.

With 300 participants from 26 Pathfinder and Adventurer clubs, the organisers hope that the message of “Faithful” will continue to live in the hearts of every participant. May they have the courage to stand firm in their faith, remain faithful through every challenge and always be ready to serve God and others. “Faithful – Inspired by the Life of Joseph.”
