The camporee carried the theme “Rebuild the Altar” and brought together 500 participants from 40 Pathfinder clubs and churches across Sarawak.
The Sarawak Pathfinder Camporee 2025 was held from 17 to 21 September 2025 at Kampung Rayang, Serian. It was organized by the Sarawak Youth Ministries Department. The camporee carried the theme “Rebuild the Altar” and brought together 500 participants from 40 Pathfinder clubs and churches across Sarawak. The main speakers were MG Farrel Millard Gara and MG Chan Tin Loi. MG Farrel reminded everyone that “Restoration happens by coming closer to God,” and he spoke about rebuilding, restoring, and prayer. He also shared that God calls us to rebuild His nation. MG Chan encouraged the youth to stand firm in their decisions like Elijah did at Mount Carmel, even when others did not stand with him.

The camporee began with an opening ceremony where Mr Shimon William, Chief Operating Officer cum Treasurer of Sarawak Unit for Other Religions Charitable Trust, represented Datuk Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn. In his speech, he said, “Rebuild the Altar” as a commitment not only for the camp but also for our whole lives. During the closing ceremony, Mr John Vincent Tippol represented Yang Berhormat Datuk Willie Mongin P198 Puncak Borneo. He expressed happiness to see young people using their school break for a meaningful purpose, building their spiritual life, and empowering themselves in daily living.

There were many activities during the five days. Participants were grouped into 12 groups with names from great prophets: Elijah, Elisha, Moses, Hosea, Isaiah, Joel, Samuel, Ezekiel, Daniel, Jonah, Amos, and Jeremiah. The program included traditional dance performances by local Pathfinder clubs, sports, market day, skill demonstrations, opening and closing ceremonies, investiture and many more. There were also 30 Pathfinder honor classes and six Adventurer award classes offered. In addition, 101 Adventurers and Pathfinders received pin classes, 8 Master Guides received recognition for good conduct, 5 leaders received the Long Service Award (Bronze), and 1 leader was honored with the Meritorious Service Award (Silver). The camp also celebrated the investiture of 30 Master Guides who had completed their requirements.

The honor classes were taught by dedicated instructors. These activities helped the younger Adventurers learn skills in creative ways while also connecting with Bible lessons and values.

The Sarawak Pathfinder Camporee 2025 was a meaningful event that not only empowered the youth but also united church members and the community. It gave the young people a chance to build new skills, grow in faith, and spend their holiday in a positive and spiritual environment. With the strong messages from the speakers, the supportive involvement of the community, and the dedication of all the instructors, the camporee truly lived up to its theme of “Rebuild the Altar.” It reminded everyone that the call to restore and stand firm in faith is a lifelong journey, and the experience will continue to guide the participants in their walk with God. To mark the end of the camporee, a grand fireworks show was held, filling the atmosphere with colour and joy as everyone celebrated the closing moments together.
