From 25–27 July 2025, a total of 84 participants, consisting of Master Guides and Master Guides in Training, gathered at Segong Youth Centre for the Master Guide Survival Camp, under the theme “Renew. Refocus. Lead.” This camp was more than an outdoor adventure, it was a leadership and spiritual development journey, equipping young leaders to serve God with resilience, faith, and integrity. The purpose of the camp was to build confident servant-leaders prepared to face real-life challenges while staying rooted in their mission.

Over three intense days, participants set up tents deep in the jungle and took responsibility for preparing their own meals. Divided into four identity-based teams, they completed hands-on training in First Aid Level 2, CPR, Fire Building, Camp Cookery, and earned the Wilderness Leadership Honor. A General Alarm Drill tested everyone’s emergency response, and both individual and group performance evaluations were conducted. One of the highlights was the Honor class, taught by MG Alrin Tajim and MG Sylvia, whose presence brought tremendous value, it was a true honor to learn under their guidance.

Spiritual development remained at the core of the experience. In his keynote, Pastor Chan urged the participants to “renew your relationship with God every day so that you can stay focused while serving Him.” Pastor Semilee also reminded them, “Integrity is essential in Master Guide service, it reveals who you truly are.” These messages became guiding lights throughout the camp, reminding participants that true leadership flows from a deep connection with Christ and consistent personal integrity.

The camp’s success was a result of the dedication and teamwork of its organizing committee: MG Felicia Alvin (Advisor), MG Timothy Suwai (Camp Director), MG Herony Castilo (Secretary), MG Wilson Somulu (Treasurer), MG Valarea Hansoo (Camp Site Leader & Housekeeping), MG Albert (Camp Commander), and MIT Gibson Sumbang (Photographer & Videographer). Their careful planning and tireless service ensured that the camp ran smoothly and left a lasting impact.

As the camp came to a close, a few stood out for their exceptional spirit and example. MG Liah Anak Akeng was named Best Female Camper, and MIT Andy Pangau received the title of Best Male Camper, both showing genuine heart, courage, and kindness throughout the camp. The Best Tent award went to the Engkaroh Pathfinder Club, recognized for their teamwork, orderliness, and strong sense of unity. Everyone left with more than just badges and certificates; they left renewed in spirit, clearer in focus, and ready to lead with love, faith, and integrity.
