The team engaged with local residents by promoting literature focused on healthy living and spiritual growth.
On June 11, Pr. Henny Nilos, Director of Publishing, Spirit of Prophecy, and Personal Ministries, led a group of four ministerial students on a canvassing mission, visiting Kampung Sampun, Kampung Kepayang, and Kampung Batu Pengansah. The team engaged with local residents by promoting literature focused on healthy living and spiritual growth, offering books that encourage a holistic lifestyle in harmony with Seventh-day Adventist health principles.

Joining the effort was Mdm. Mary Christina, a committed Literature Evangelist and ministerial spouse, whose experience and dedication added tremendous value to the outreach. Literature evangelists play a vital role in the Seventh-day Adventist Church, often referred to as “silent messengers” who bring truth-filled books into homes, sharing the everlasting gospel and the Three Angels’ Messages through inspired writings. This form of ministry, rooted in the example and counsel of Ellen G. White, continues to be a powerful method of evangelism.

As part of the same mission trip, a Spirit of Prophecy (SOP) Seminar was conducted on Sabbath at Siluk Seventh-day Adventist Church. Led by Pr. Henny Nilos, the seminar aimed to deepen the congregation’s understanding of the prophetic ministry of Ellen G. White. Topics included the importance of the Spirit of Prophecy in guiding the church, its role in end-time preparation, and the relevance of her writings in nurturing spiritual growth. The session was well attended and concluded with a call for members to engage more actively in reading inspired literature and participating in literature ministry.

This combined effort of canvassing and the Spirit of Prophecy Seminar provided a meaningful opportunity for practical ministry, spiritual education, and community outreach. It demonstrated the importance of literature evangelism and prophetic guidance in fulfilling the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Through collaboration between pastors, students, literature evangelists, and ministerial spouses, the message of hope and health was shared with love and purpose, reminding all involved of the urgent call to prepare for Christ’s soon return.
