The dedication ceremony was more than just a celebration of a finished building, it was a spiritual milestone.
On Sabbath, June 17, 2025, Sungai Indai Church in the Simunjan district celebrated a deeply meaningful event, the dedication of its newly completed church building. After years of prayer, planning, and collective effort, the congregation gathered to formally set apart the new worship space for the glory of God. The ceremony was attended by members of the local church and honored guests from the Sarawak Mission of Seventh-day Adventists, including Pastor Semilee Tajau (Mission President), Pastor Joggery Gelu (Executive Secretary), and Mr. Dave Keith Mina (Treasurer). Their presence underscored the significance of the occasion within the wider church community.

The dedication ceremony was more than just a celebration of a finished building, it was a spiritual milestone. The service included worship, words of reflection, and a special ordination led by Pastor Joggery Gelu. During this portion of the program, several church members were officially ordained as deacons, deaconesses, and elders. This act affirmed their calling and commitment to serve the church and its members with humility and faithfulness. It also signaled the church’s readiness to grow not only in numbers but in strength, leadership, and mission.

A church dedication is a reminder that the church is not just a structure, but a space where faith is nurtured, lives are changed, and the community is served. For the members of Sungai Indai Church, this new building is a place to gather in worship, to learn, to pray, and to continue the work of sharing the gospel in the Simunjan area. It stands as a visible testimony of God’s provision and the unity of His people.

As the service concluded, the celebration continued with a joyful fellowship meal. Church members had prepared a generous potbless, a shared meal where each family brought a dish, as an expression of hospitality, gratitude, and unity. Laughter, stories, and shared moments of reflection filled the church grounds, turning the dedication into not just a formal program, but a full Sabbath experience of community and joy.

The dedication of Sungai Indai Church marks the beginning of a new chapter. It is a testament to faith, cooperation, and God’s provision. As the church moves forward, this day will be remembered as a moment of renewal, calling the congregation to deepen their commitment to worship, service, and outreach in the Simunjan area and beyond.
