About 1,800 Seventh-day Adventists gathered at the Serian Conference Center for the OneVoice27 Launching Program. Church members, leaders, youth, and representatives from churches across Sarawak came together for worship, fellowship, and a renewed commitment to God’s mission. The program included 20 singing groups, which brought joy to the gathering and showed the unity of the church. Everyone came together with one purpose: to support the OneVoice27 vision and share the hope found in Jesus Christ.
The launch was also held in Seventh-day Adventist churches across Sarawak. Churches in towns and local communities held their own OneVoice27 activities and joined in the same celebration. These local launches showed that OneVoice27 is more than one event. It is a shared commitment that involves the whole church family across Sarawak. Churches in different places were able to take part in the same vision and message.
The main program featured a sermon by Pr. Abel Bana entitled “Let Your Light Shine.” He reminded the participants that the light God gives us should not be hidden or used to make ourselves known. Instead, it should help others see God. Pr. Abel said, “God wants you to shine in this world. You need to shine for God but not for yourselves.” His message reminded everyone that each believer is called to let Christ’s light shine through their lives and share hope with their families, churches, communities, and others.
The program ended with a commitment prayer led by Pr. Abel Bana. About 1,800 people stood together and committed themselves to God’s mission and to sharing His light and hope. The commitment continued after the prayer. Immediately after the launch, all 1,800 participants posted on their social media platforms at the same time. They shared the OneVoice27 message and the campaign tagline, “All Things New, Hope Starts Here.”
The social media posting helped bring the OneVoice27 message beyond the conference center and local churches. Hundreds of people became messengers of hope by sharing the message with their online communities. This showed that the church can share God’s message both through gatherings and through digital platforms. The OneVoice27 launch was more than a program. It showed what can happen when the church comes together with one voice, one mission, and one purpose.
As the churches across Sarawak continue this journey together, OneVoice27 reminds believers to shine for God and not for themselves. From the local churches across Sarawak to the 1,800 people gathered in Serian, the launch showed a strong spirit of unity, commitment, and mission. The Adventist community is now moving forward together with a shared message of hope: “All Things New, Hope Starts Here.”
