The Sibu Jaya Centre of Influence (Seventh-day Adventist Church) recently celebrated its 3rd Anniversary, marking three years of God’s faithfulness, grace, and abundant blessings. What began as a vision has grown into a vibrant ministry where people gather to worship, grow in their faith, and experience the love of Jesus Christ. Today, the Centre of Influence consists of three ministry areas: the Taman Satria/Jalan Oya Lama Batu 4 Cell Group, the Sibu Jaya Cell Group covering Eco Garden, Taman Amber, Sibu Jaya Town, Menyan, Sengan, and Senibong, and the Durin/Kanowit Branch Sabbath School, which serves Ng. Pak, SMK Durin, Maong Atas, and Simpang Kanowit. During the anniversary celebration, a total of 106 people gathered for worship, reflecting God’s continued blessings upon this growing ministry.
One of the church’s important ministries is its Public Campus Ministry. Located near several educational institutions, the Centre of Influence has become a spiritual home for many students who attend worship every Sabbath. Away from their families, these students find a welcoming church family where they receive spiritual encouragement, build meaningful friendships, and strengthen their relationship with God. This ministry continues to play an important role in reaching young people with the message of Christ.
Over the past three years, God has greatly blessed the ministry as more people from the surrounding communities continue to join the church. What began with only a few worshippers has grown into a thriving congregation through Bible studies, personal witnessing, and community outreach. Many lives have been transformed, and many souls have accepted Jesus Christ. The continued growth of the Centre of Influence is a testimony of God’s faithfulness and the dedication of members who faithfully share the everlasting gospel with those around them.
The ministry is led by Mr. James Jalin, with the support of Pr. Steeve Ton as the church pastor. Together with dedicated members and volunteers, they continue to strengthen the ministry and serve the surrounding communities with love and commitment. Guided by the theme verse, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” (Matthew 6:33), the church remains committed to putting God first in everything they do while continuing to reach more people for His kingdom.
As the Sibu Jaya Centre of Influence celebrates this special milestone, the church expresses its heartfelt appreciation to every member, volunteer, leader, supporter, and friend who has faithfully contributed to this ministry over the past three years. It is our prayer that God will continue to bless the Centre of Influence, strengthen its mission, and use it to bring hope, transform lives, and lead many more people to Jesus Christ. May this ministry continue to be a light to the communities it serves and a place where many more will come to know the saving love of Christ. To God be all the glory.
