“Impact for Sarawak” is a transformative event focused on deepening our relationship with God and spreading the Gospel across Sarawak. It brings together churches, spiritual leaders, and individuals from diverse backgrounds to unite in faith, strengthen their commitment to God, and share the message of hope and salvation. Through worship, reflection, and fellowship, the event encourages participants to grow in their spiritual walk and to actively spread the Gospel, fostering a renewed dedication to living out their faith and impacting their communities for God’s glory.
“Impact for Sarawak” took place on 30th November, 2024, at Dewan Masyarakat MBKS (Majlis Bandaraya Kuching Selatan) on Jalan Padungan, Kuching. The event brought together spiritual leaders, church members, and individuals from Kuching, Kota Samarahan, Padawan, and Penrissen, fostering a deep sense of unity and collective purpose. It was a gathering dedicated to nurturing spiritual growth, promoting harmony, and inspiring positive change through shared values, faith, and meaningful dialogue.
The participating churches in the Kuching region included Batu Kawa, with Pr. Stimson Hutagalung; Kuching English Church, represented by Pr. Lawrence Banyie and Pr. Francis Amer; Kota Samarahan, led by Pr. Ham Diyon; Landeh, under Pr. Henny; Simboh, with Mrs. Stimson; as well as Petung, Tabuan Rabak, Garung, Segendar, Siburan, Menjau, and other local congregations.
The event was marked by a strong turnout, with 900 attendees coming together for a series of impactful gatherings and spiritual discussions. Throughout the event, participants were deeply moved by the messages shared by speakers from various churches across the Kuching region. This collective effort not only provided an opportunity for fellowship and community-building but also became a significant spiritual milestone. A total of 72 individuals made the life-changing decision to be baptized, symbolizing their renewed commitment to their faith and their personal spiritual journey. The baptisms stood as a testament to the profound impact the event had on the lives of attendees, many of whom expressed a deepened sense of purpose and devotion. During “Impact for Sarawak,” 72 individuals were given Bibles as a gift, symbolizing the event’s commitment to spreading the Gospel and nurturing spiritual growth. This gesture encouraged participants to embrace faith and share its message with others, further strengthening the sense of unity and purpose within the community.
In addition to its spiritual emphasis, the event highlighted the importance of community development, with churches and leaders working together to address local issues such as social welfare, education, and healthcare. Through collaboration on these fronts, the churches aim to positively impact Sarawak’s broader society, ensuring that the love and teachings of Christianity are reflected in their service to the community. As Pr. Stimson Hutagalung stated, “The beautiful place that God has prepared for all of us in Heaven, we all long to return. Prepare yourself and those around you.”
“Impact for Sarawak” also promotes unity, empowerment, and outreach, encouraging individuals to actively contribute to the spread of the Gospel and the betterment of their local areas. With a mix of worship, reflection, and spiritual growth, the event leaves a lasting impression on participants, fostering a renewed sense of hope, unity, and dedication to sharing the message of faith.
